Known Errors in the First Printing of Unit

NOTE:
In all that follows I will use <letter name> to
represent a Greek-letter variable, ^ to indicate that the next
quantity is superscripted, _ to indicate that the next quantity is
subscripted, and boldface to indicate a vector quantity. I will also
go against typographical convention and put punctuation
outside of quotation marks to make whatever is enclosed in
quotes exactly reflect what is (or should be) in the
text.
- Inside front cover: add a statement that normal atmospheric
pressure is 101.3 kPa.
- Inside front cover: add the definition of the pascal.
- page ix, item 5, second line: omit "a" between "require" and
"substantial".
- page x, sixth line: omit "a" between "with" and "day-by-day".
- page xii, first line of second paragraph: add "to" between
"was" and "simplify".
- pages xiii and xiv, section 9: added some omitted names.
- page 10, third line from the end of the paragraph containing
equation T1.6: the extra 4186 in the statement of the value of
c for lead was deleted.
- page 17, exercise T2X.1, second line: atmospheric pressure is
101 kPa not 1.01 kPa.
- page 25, equation T2.21 and the line below: replace subscript
"sp" with italic subscript "s" for consistency.
- page 28, answer to exercise T2X.1: should be 3.47 x 10^22
molecules, 1.62 g.
- page 28, answer to exercise T2X.6, last line: clarify that
k_BT and T should be less than roughly
...
- page 42, answer to exercise T3X.5: insert dot between N and m
in units for each square.
- page 46, first line after equation T4.2a: inserted "the"
between "being" and "effective".
- page 50, fourth-from-last line in second paragraph of section
T4.6, last item in line: replace "/" by "-" for consistency.
- page 92, text between equations T7.20 and T7.21: will rewrite
for clarity.
