Welcome to the Pomona Department of Physics and Astronomy Page. Physics is the study of the most fundamental properties of matter and energy, stressing the experimental determination and the quantitative theoretical description of nature. As such, it has close connections to and application in mathematics, the other physical sciences (particularly astronomy, chemistry and geology), and increasingly in the life and medical sciences.
